About Us

Our Pastor, Darren Milley has been blessed to wear many different hats on his life’s journey, but he would firstly identify himself as a dearly loved child of the King and a passionate follower of Jesus Christ.  He is someone who benefits from the abundant grace of God every single day.

Darren has been married to his lovely wife Sally for 26 years and counting, and feels blessed to learn how to love, lead, and sacrifice better each day.

Darren is also the father of three children and one daughter in law, and he loves being a dad.  He deeply enjoys time with Matt, Summer and Ethan, and now Hope, and they are his most significant legacy. Bosco the nearly one year old blue tick hound mix rounds out the immediate family.

Darren has completed an undergraduate degree at Ontario Bible College, and 18 years later completed a Master’s degree in theological studies from Tyndale.

He was also formed deeply in completing Arrow Leadership, Ontario Police College, and Canadian Forces Leadership and Recruit School.

With a heart to serve the Lord, he has served the church in apastoral capacity in several seasons of life, beginning in 1993 as an intern-turned-staff pastoring youth and outreach in the Beaches community of Toronto.

Darren then served 10 years as an OPP police constable. It was here that The Lord taught him the value of prayer and the desperate need of Christ in the midst of crisis.

At the prompting of the Lord, with the support of his wife and family, Darren left the OPP to Pastor a church first in Alliston, then Barrhaven, and then to plant a church in the community of Manotick.

It was in Manotick where Darren began to discern a call to serve as a military chaplain in the Canadian Armed Forces. Darren’s dad served in WW2 and his grandad in WW1.  Darrenwas commissioned and credentialed as a chaplain and blessed to care for various units at CFB Borden and 16 Wing of the Royal Canadian Air Force. As Lieutenant (Navy) Milley, he was humbled to receive a few accommodations and awards for the care and service he was blessed to provide. More than that, he was most thankful to begin an evangelical outreach service called “Love Borden” during his time serving as the pastor of the base Chapel. Darren was also given the unique opportunity to serve as an Aide de Comp to the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario; of which he has been led to believe he was the first chaplain to ever do so.

The family obeyed a calling to return to eastern Ontario and Darren retired from the military in 2022. Now in Ottawa, he has spent the last three years owning and driving a truck whiledeveloping a discipleship ministry for truckers called PowerServe now in partnership with the ministry Transport for Christ.  Utilizing both YouTube and other social media platforms, as The Father Trucker, he has sought to lead Christian truckers into a greater calling to serve as disciples and missionaries to the trucking community.

At the heart of it all Darren loves Jesus Christ and His church deeply and counts it a great honour to have been able to serve as a shepherd in many different roles, and is so very blessed to do so now as the pastor of Kingston East End Community Church.  It is Darren and Sally’s strong desire and sense that this stop will be a long one, and they couldn’t be happier.
